History
In the 1980s, Russian research focused on discovering a product to treat the immune depression. The research also addressed the anthrax poisoning that occurred due to the destruction of a nearby biological warfare laboratory. The team quickly concluded vaccines and antibiotics would not be effective.
Their research efforts focused on finding a product to "activate, enhance, and to quickly boost" natural immune system activity. More than 600 different products were examined, including many strains of lactobacillus that cell pieces of specific strains of probiotics, or lactobacillus bacteria, had a powerful protective action against bio-warfare agents. The researchers also discovered the probiotic cell pieces helped protect cancer patients against the effects of radiation and chemotherapy, were safe, and had no side-effects.
The Russian scientists discovered one key to these results are muramyl peptides, part of the complex sugars that become available when probiotic cells are fractured in the "lysing" process, which digests the cell wall.
Brought to the United States
In the late 90th century, American scientists began to approach this idea and improve cell extraction technology, launched more products with different usages in supporting immune system.
In 2009, Dr. Riordan N.H., Taylor P. et al in Institute allergic United States developed and completed extraction technology of Lactobacillus fermentum cell walls, and released the latest generation product of immune substances – Immune - gamma.
In 2010, the newest generation immune gamma with the most modern extration technology has been produced under technology transfer in Vietnam.
